We can all remember when we where children having our annual school photography done each year we where at school. The traditional pose, as it is now commonly known, is the usual generic bust shoot with a light coloured background, shot in full school uniform and very staged. Even though these types of shots still have their place in today’s market, should parents be getting more choice when it comes to there school photography?

After all there are loads more techniques around today, mostly due to the acceleration in technology over the past few years. Fashion also dictates that school photography should change with the times. Family portrait shoots are now very popular and many people have canvases on their walls of their children. Something that would have been almost impossible years ago when I was at a school. So, as times are changing and with the endless amount of images that can be captured, processed and output via digital technology these days, parents should be getting a whole lot more for their money.
